About Ian Caldwell

Ian Caldwell is a member of LAPADA and CINOA and has been working in the antiques business since the late 1970s, running his own dealership, Ian Caldwell Antiques, for 26 years until 2007, specialising in fine period furniture.
Drawing on his years of experience and specialist knowledge, Ian has worked as a valuer for many years for private clients and local firms of solicitors. He also acts as an adjudicator for LAPADA.

Ian Caldwell is a writer and lecturer on antiques, has run a course on Antiques at the Sutton College of Liberal Arts (SCOLA) and his writings have been published by The Antique Collector, Country Life, and The Lady.


Ian works in London, Surrey, Sussex and Kent and will travel to your property to value any item.

Insurance Service

For piece of mind it is always advisable to have any precious items of be properly valued and assessed. I am able to provide formal valuations on the basis of retail replacement or open market values.

Probate Service

The probate service is comprehensive and I am able to offer advice and guidance throughout the process with the utmost sensitivity at what is likely to be a delicate time.
